AND Board of Directors: Call for Nominations

AND seeks nominations of qualified Board member candidates. AND will maintain an
active list of candidates for ongoing consideration. AND seeks candidates who
demonstrate the following abilities and characteristics: credibility with the professional
community and government entities with which the organization works; reliability, sound
judgment, flexibility and creativity; ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other
Board members, staff, community members, and groups with diverse backgrounds and
philosophies; ability to make difficult decisions on behalf of the organization; and ability to
take a multi-cultural perspective and support strategies that enhance diverse, sustainable
neighborhoods.

The AND Board is comprised of fifteen (15) members who serve three-year terms.
Qualifications include demonstrated leadership ability and knowledge and skills from
experience or training in one or more of the following areas: affordable housing, special
needs housing, real estate development, property and asset management, community
development, neighborhood planning, preservation, sustainability/resiliency, finance,
policy development, strategic planning, management/administration, capital
development, corporate governance, marketing, negotiation, fundraising, grant-writing and
accounting, or such other skills as the Board may identify.

Prospective candidates should demonstrate a willingness to commit time and personal
resources; to serve on Board committees; to represent the organization at community
functions; and to support the organization’s mission and values. Ascendant values diversity
and seeks Board candidates who reflect the diversity of the communities that it serves.
