The East Harlem Community Alliance (EHCA) is a consortium of over 185 nonprofits, businesses, religious organizations and government agencies working together to enhance the vitality and well-being of East Harlem. The Alliance undertakes joint projects and activities designed to strengthen the economic base of East Harlem through improving the community’s knowledge about and access to local products and services. The Alliance also serves as a forum through which member organizations can connect with one another, share information, and expand their involvement in the East Harlem community.
The EHCA offers an online job board, a neighborhood business and service-provider directory, a forum for discussions on building a stronger local economy, any many other invaluable resources. The EHCA recently launched Buy Local East Harlem, an initiative meant to encourage local residents to purchase goods and services from local providers.
