The East Harlem COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disasters) is a coalition of local organizations and businesses who work to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters that affect the lives of East Harlem residents. The East Harlem COAD’s mission is to make East Harlem a better prepared and safer community through rapid communication, coordination, identification, and distribution of resources during a public health emergency.
As a developer and manager of affordable housing for low-income elders, families with children, individuals, and people with specific needs, AND is committed to understanding and preparing for the challenges that emergency situations might pose for our residents. The East Harlem COAD is a critical resource for organizations interested in community-based emergency planning and resiliency, and we’re proud to join as a community member.
